Award-winning writer, naturalist and activist Susan Cerulean has written from Tallahassee and Indian Pass, Florida since 1981. I Have Been Assigned the Single Bird: A Daughter’s Memoir, released by University of Georgia Press in 2019, garnered the Sarton Award by the Story Circle Network. Her nature memoir Coming to Pass: Florida’s Coastal Islands in a Gulf of Change (UGA Press, 2015) received a Gold Medal in the category of Florida Nonfiction by the Florida Book Awards. In 2005, Tracking Desire: A Journey After Swallow-tailed Kites (UGA Press) was named Editors’ Choice by Audubon magazine.
